About
Mulika Afrika is a non-profit organization that empowers Maasai through Education, Medical Care, Environmental Sustainability and Economic Empowerment.
Mulika Afrika was officially founded in 2020 by Paul Ole Leitura. He was driven by his deep commitment to the Maasai community and had the wish to create sustainable, positive change for his community. In 2021, Mulika Afrika was registered as a nonprofit organization. This solidified our mission to empower the Maasai communities through targeted programs.
Since then, we have successfully completed over 15 projects. These projects aimed to improve the well-being of the Maasai community. They had a special focus on promoting gender equality.

Empowering Women through Livestock

Receiving goats from Mulika Afrika has changed my life. As a widow, I struggled to provide for my children, but now I have a sustainable source of income. My children are healthier, and I feel more hopeful about the future.

Transformative Health Education

The health training provided by Mulika Afrika and The Rain Workers has been eye-opening. I learned about family planning and the importance of reproductive health. Now, I can help educate others in my community, and we are seeing fewer health issues.

Mulika Afrika is led by the Executive Director, supported by a management team of five that includes the Programme Manager and Finance Manager. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors, which is Local governing board elected by the General Assembly for a period of three years.
The General Assembly, which brings together all members of Mulika Afrika and community representatives, meets once a year to review the organisation’s activities and achievements, approve plans for the following year, and provide overall strategic guidance. It is considered the supreme governing organ of the organisation. The Board of Directors meets quarterly to review and approve financial reports, programmes, and organisational plans.
Mulika Afrika remains committed to transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of resources, and publicly accounts for its outcomes and the use of funds.
